Happy February!

February is here and time is flying by! January was a great month in Relief Society. We had a great RS Meeting about fitness and healthy eating. Heidi Russell and Amy Ritter led a great (and exhausting!) workout and Nikki Campbell and Cecelia Chambers demonstrated healthy recipes and smoothies. It was lots of fun and thanks to all those who helped and participated! We have another meeting planned this month, a Family History Workshop, on February 16 at 6:30pm.

We had a ward temple trip at the end of January and there was a great turnout. Our next ward temple trip is on April 14 so make plans now, if possible, to attend. We will be working on procuring family names for temple work at our Family History Workshop.

Also, we had a great month in visiting teaching. One of our ward goals this year is to maintain better contact with our sisters and we had a stellar first month. Thanks to all those who check on, visit, call, serve and minister to one another-you truly are great women! The Visiting Teaching message for February can be found on the church website here.

There are lots of new announcements for February, these can be found in the newsletter for this month on the table outside the Relief Society room. I'm attaching a copy here as well.

Happy New Year!

I hope you all had a wonderful and safe holiday season!

Now we start a new year and a new lesson manual in Relief Society, The Teachings of President George Albert Smith. The manuals were delayed in shipping but hopefully we will have them soon. You may read or print lessons from lds.org here.

Daughters in My Kingdom is a new publication released by the church especially for women. These are available on the table outside of the Relief Society room. If you would like one and can not find one at church, please contact a member of the RS presidency and we will order more.

Also, there have been some changes to Visiting Teaching routes and they are in the process of being passed out to all visiting teachers. Please be sure to report your visits and contacts with a member of the RS presidency and let us know how your sisters are doing.

Below is a copy of the newsletter, please let me know if there are any birthdays or announcements missing. Thanks!

A Star Among Us

Our own Brandon Steadman will be starring in tonight's performance of High School Musical JR by the Madison Middle School Drama Department. The performance is at 7pm in the Madison Central High School auditorium. Tickets are $5.00. This will be a great opportunity for cub scouts and youth to pass off the requirement of attending a drama performance as part of personal progress or rank advancements. Good luck tonight, Brandon!

We had to opportunity to watch the General Relief Society Meeting this past Saturday, September 24. We ate delicious pie from the pie making contest before the broadcast and were treated to a lovely dinner. Click here to listen to the meeting (or to re-listen to the meeting if you were in a pie coma the first go round).
